The community's journey began with a group enjoying an Iftaar meal together, which sparked the idea of further culinary explorations. The name "Dastarkhwan" was adopted during one of their outings. Member Abhishek Gupta appreciates the personal and enriching nature of their gatherings, where sharing a meal feels like delving into history and learning together.One member shared how they visited someone from Kashmir at their home, gaining valuable insights into their culture and way of life. Another member expressed appreciation for the unique and well-curated events where individuals from specific cultures are present to provide explanations. In the community, enjoying food together is embodied by different activities: Rozana involves visiting restaurants where owners share in-depth culinary history, Safarnama offers food walks to explore diverse cuisines, and Mehfil includes people welcoming others into their homes to experience their culture.
